Replacement of pre-tank with biomass screw conveyors

The plant originally had a pre-tank but, following careful analysis of the farm’s needs, the AGB Biogas technical department proposed replacing it with a screw conveyor feed system.
We then installed a horizontal, vertical and tilted set of biomass screw conveyors. Moreover, the Kit includes an electrical panel that automatically controls start/shutdown of the three gearmotors. 

The advantages of revamping

Thanks to this revamping of the biogas plant feed system:

The customer can unload silage and manure directly onto the horizontal screw conveyor with the mixer tank

Using screw conveyors reduces dispersion of the methanogenisis-created power of the processed material, which is introduced in smaller quantities and more frequently than would occur with the original pre-tank

This improves the energy efficiency of the biomethane plant, consequently boosting energy production and increasing profitability

In conclusion, implementation of a new screw conveyor feed system allowed the farm to overcome their biogas plant feed problems, make the system more flexible and produce more energy.
